You may have seen news items lately about an abduction and rape that occurred very near Summit and Hudson mid-day on April 3.
Early news reports incorrectly identified the location of the rape in the 600 block of Hudson, but it was, in fact, in the unoccupied basement of an apartment building in the 400 block of Hudson.
The investigation is proceeding; the victim was able to provide evidence that the police are using to identify the perpetrator.
The attacker was described as a white male who is approximately 37-years-old. He is between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He had red or auburn hair and a bright red goatee. He was missing a bottom tooth and had a tattoo of a diamond on the inner webbing of his left hand. He was wearing a green hooded zip-up jacket and dark blue jeans. The victim described the suspect as “smelly.”
