Move-In is in Full Swing!

The influx of new residents to our neighborhood brings many opportunities.  There are, of course, opportunities to meet and greet new neighbors.  Remember that first impressions really are lasting– if your first encounter with a resident is pleasant and helpful, chances are that future conversations will be more constructive, too.  We have Welcome Packets available if you would like hand some out near your home.

But Move-In also brings opportunity for criminals! Unattended moving vans, vacant apartments, electronics boxes being left out by the garbage, naive tenants unaware of crime risks, and large scale pre-semester house-warming parties — all these increase the likelihood of being targeted by burglars. Please help spread the word to be vigilant to new residents!

 Agenda includes:

  • Update on Arrests & New Crime alerts
  • Meet – n- greet your neighbors. —  opportunities, infrastructure troubles, and other goings-on that impact you where you live!!
  • Maynard/ Summit Park Clean-up
  • Look ahead to plans for next years’ April Fools parade
  • other possibilities: upcoming openings in University Area Commission, missing mail delivery, permit parking possibility, historical district designation, other? …
