SoHud Block Watch Meeting

MARCH 12, 7:00 p.m.

at Maynard Ave. United Methodist Church
(corner of E. Maynard & Indianola Aves.)

Though we expect this meeting to be brief, we will have IMPORTANT INFORMATION
about changes coming this Spring that will deeply impact everything about movement in and through the neighborhood. And information on how to give your feedback.

• Remember, block watch meetings are on second Thursdays at 7:00 pm. •

The Court is Coming to You:

Josh Harmon, Assistant to Judge Hawkins presiding over Columbus’s Environmental Court will be joining us at our April 9th 2015 meeting.

He will be giving information and answering questions about legalities around noise complaints, code violations, nuisance properties, and more.

I talked with Mr. Harmon for perhaps15 or 20 minutes this Fall and was blown away by the possibilities regarding so many topics. Bring your questions & prepare for an eye-opening evening of information.

With the re-paving project set to begin in June along N. 4th & Summit streets, there will be profound changes to the way you travel, park your cars, catch your buses, and walk the streets of our neighborhood.

A public informational meeting was held on March 4th to reveal the final plans. The Public Comments period will be ending on March 18th. A link to the detailed maps showing the changes, along with information to contact the head of the project can be found here: http://universityarea.org/2015/03/paving-us23/

Like they say, “Speak now or forever hold your peace.”

ROTR – May 15, 16, 17

Rock on the Range is billing itself as the “Loudest Festival in the Country” this year. Last year, stadium management did alter sound levels in response to community complaints. However, there have still been problems with attendants parking up the neighborhood, traffic, and cell phone service.

Together with the University Area Commission, we will be reaching out to the stadium management to see if we can plan for fewer negative impacts on the neighborhood.

We’ll send updates to your email and post at the block watch website: sohudblockwatch.org
